The India Habitat Centre Theatre Festival 2026 is set to be held from September 18th to 27th at the Stein Auditorium, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. The 10-day festival will bring together a diverse line-up of contemporary theatre productions across multiple languages and theatrical forms, in addition to classical dance dramas of India. An important performance shall be the Shilappadikaram, the ancient Tamil play on the legend of the stolen anklet, enacted in Kathakali form.
This year’s festival will feature nine mainstage productions along with three additional performances. The line-up will include productions in Hindi, English, Tamil and Punjabi, covering contemporary narratives, adaptations, regional traditions and classical theatrical forms.

The festival will be held at the Stein Auditorium, India Habitat Centre, from September 18th to 27th, 2026. Tickets will be priced at Rs 200/-, Rs 350/- and Rs 500/-.
