Qnergy, a provider of remote power solutions for the oil and gas industry, announced the PowerGen Ex, an explosion-proof generator designed for offshore and hazardous environments. IECEx and ATEX certified, the PowerGen Ex provides up to 4,000 watts of prime or backup power in a compact footprint engineered with reliability in mind.
At the core of the PowerGen is Ex is Qnergy’s Free Piston Stirling Engine; an external combustion engine manufactured without rotating parts or the need for lubrication. With a simple once per year annual maintenance requirement, built in redundancies, and no oil replenishment needs, the system minimises costly service visits while maximising uptime.
