The Supporting Act Foundation is committed to creating better opportunities for emerging artists, particularly those from underrepresented communities. It also offers financial support to exciting arts-focused nonprofits already working to empower such artists and communities.
Set up by WeTransferin 2021, the foundation offers artists the resources they need to realise their ambitions, working with a trust-based approach to philanthropy that promotes growth and equity, no strings attached.
In 2025 the foundation allocated €600,000 to 20 new grantees, via two programs: the Impact Grant and the Artist Grant.
Ten grants of €50,000 were available to arts-focused nonprofits that support emerging artists from underrepresented groups. The grant is given over a two year period to allow nonprofits’ leadership time for thoughtful and coherent organizational improvement, planning and growth.
The Artist Grant
Ten grants of €10,000 were available to emerging artists from underrepresented groups whose practices involve collaborative, collective, or creative processes that incorporate or benefit their communities. The Artist Grant is designed to improve living and working conditions for artists, enabling them to dedicate more time to artistic and personal development.
The recipients of The Supporting Act Foundation’s grants are chosen by independent selection committees made up of industry experts and past grantees, with extensive first-hand experience of the challenges emerging artists face today.
